Chat with the crew: Ifred's edition
Hear from our zoned-out player, Ifred, about his thoughts on Verindale
Hey, dude!
Ifred here! Your friendly Druid/Gambler on the squad. How are you doing?
I’ve got the newsletter this week, so let’s do this, my dude! I’ve been dying to tell you about my Gambler skills.
Oh, and if you’re new to this segment and haven’t met the others, you can meet:
Nylah, our fearless leader and Dragoon/Bard.
Tovak Oro, Warlord/Blackguard and easter egg NPC.
Drafficus Mass, Barbarian/Alchemist and smoking buddy.
Ahren Sahn, Templar/Beastmaster and all-around cool dude.
Meiyu Lu, Thief/Gunslinger with a fancy pistol.
Now, let’s do this!
Tomes and stuff
Alright, dude. Let me break it down for you. The Gambler skills are hella complicated, so if you get confused, message me or the big kahuna, and we’ll help you. There’s also a breakdown of the basic gambler skills on the website.
Gamblers get two epic skill trees. Path of Cards and Path of Chance.
Let’s start off with the cards. Gamblers get to use different decks:
Classic (standard English/French playing cards)
Renaissance (Spanish playing cards)
Gothic (Swiss playing cards)
Tarot.
I asked the kahuna to draw up the real ones from the game. Might even get her to make a whole pack so you can have one for yourself!
Classic Deck
You’ve got your basic elements in here. Pretty standard.
Renaissance Deck
This is a bit more wild. You can do some cool combos with this.
Gothic Deck
This one is where it’s at! Maximum chaos.
Tarot Deck
This one’s my favorite, but the kahuna hasn’t managed to draw these yet. Anyway, they’re made up of just the major arcana cards, and they have some awesome effects like—
I think that’s enough, Ifred. Let’s move on to the interview. Please…
Sorry kahuna…
All about your dude, Ifred
If you could pick any animal from Verindale to have as a pet, what would it be?
Hmmm… I dunno, dude. I’d probably go with a silk panda. They’re so fluffy, so I could lie on it, but they’re also huge, so if you send them into a rage, they cause some serious chaos.
Favorite color?
I like greens. Of all kinds. Hehe.
If you could’ve chosen your classes, what would you have picked?
I wouldn’t change a thing, dude. My classes are a great fit. I love the chaos and intricacy of the Gambler class, and the nature magic from the Druids is super handy. I’m cool with it.
Favorite magic?
Gambler magic, for sure.
If you could be stuck with any type of weather for a year, what would it be?
Hmmmm…I’d go for snow. I don’t really like the heat much.
If you could pick any city in Verindale to live in, what would it be?
I’d wanna live in Saker’s Coast. I reckon the pirates would be fun.
Anyway, it was cool to write to you, dude!
Hang ten and drop us a line if you’re curious about anything I told you about.
Cheers,
Ifred
Author’s note: Whoever’s next, go easy on the graphics. I have to write your stories too, you know?
Tovak’s note: Never mind that! He butchered my cleverly crafted titles!
Ahren’s note: Good job, Ifred!
Nylah’s note: I have to write all this stuff down for later…
Meiyu’s note: Nerd
